Homework-
Homework is uniform for all of third grade. On Mondays we will send a pack home with the following.
1. Spelling- The students will have their weekly words written in their planner. Students are expected to complete four spelling assignments for the week. They may chose from the assignment list.
2. Math- The students will bring home four pages of homework. Each concept will have already been gone through in class. If for some reason they don’t have Math that day the assignment will be shortened. I will let you know if that happens.
3. Reading- The students are expected to read twenty minutes a week. Please sign this on their planners nightly. I do count nightly reading as part of their reading grade.
Behavior-
On the first day of school the students and I will be coming up with a set of rules and goals. If a student chooses to not follow expectations, consequences will follow. We will have a magnet system. A student’s magnet may be moved up or down throughout the day. Watch your child’s planner for colors. Green, blue or purple mean they had a great day. Yellow and red mean some expectations weren’t followed. Ask your child what happened and how it can be corrected. If I notice a trend, I will reach out. I would rather fix behaviors before they turn into problems.
